Maybe Today, Definitely Tomorrow, Sorry About Yesterday

I stand here at the edge

Lost inside myself. Losing

Little pieces of my mind

Falling into the abyss

My screams echo in silence

As Darkness consumes my all

I stumble over the edge

Into the eternal flames

And it’s hot, so very hot

I wonder if I will burn

Or manage to keep my cool

Until I hit the bottom

A puddle of liquified

Anger, frustration, sorrow

Stagnant, tepid pool of Me

Wasted efforts to return

To stability and I

Stand here at the edge, still and

Ready to let go, hold on

To myself. One frayed thread left
