Fairest of Them All

Mirror, Mirror

I look at you everyday
you never change
always the same scowl
as if you smell something foul
Perhaps, it is your rotting Spirit

Your lackluster eyes
revealing the Dead inside
have to say I’m not surprised
as you’ve sold every piece of your Soul
to any Devil with a shiny penny

The view from up here
is crystal clear, yet you’re blind
to how unkind you have become
how awful and venomous your tongue
as if your insult does not injure
the broken-hearted and left behind

Though, it’s not as if you care
the world could burn and you’d smile
more than happy to watch the King’s fall
madly laughing as he turns to ash
still calling you the fairest of them all
