Bee Keeper

My chair is uncomfortable as I sit across the table
The prophetess, blind and aged, just stares
I wish to speak, but am unable
She barely breathes, she’s unaware

The prophetess, blind and aged, just stares
offering no fortune, asking no recompense
She barely breathes, she’s unaware
I am trapped in curious suspense

Offering no fortune, asking no recompense
I wish to leave this horrid place
I am trapped by curious suspense
staring into Fate’s placid face

I wish to leave this horrid place
With or without the answers I seek
staring into Fate’s placid face
I dare think to challenge, my Spirit is weak

With or without the answers I seek
I shall finish my Hero’s Quest
I dare think to challenge, my Spirit is weak
Perhaps, in prayers, I shall find rest

I shall finish my Hero’s Quest
or wither and die in the attempt
perhaps, in prayers, I shall find rest
or the endless echoes of promises unkept

Wither and die in the attempt
as I procrastinate and play games
the endless echoes of promises unkept
taunt me, haunt me until I am insane

As I procrastinate and play games
the world dies in a billion screams
taunt me, haunt me until I am insane
never leaving, not even in dreams

The world dies with a billion screams
the loudest being the pain of my queen
never leaving, not even in dreams
As the War wages in World’s between

The loudest still is the pain of my queen
her heart, black and molded, beats no more
As War wages in the World’s between
Chaos, lies in wait beyond the door

Her heart, black and molded, beats no more
Her kingdom crumbles to the dirt
Chaos, lies in wait beyond the door
poised and ready to strike, to hurt

Her kingdom crumbles to the dirt
I see all this happen in blind eyes
Poised and ready to strike, to hurt
The Devil’s laughter is my demise

I see all this happen in blind eyes
I wish to speak and am unable
The Devil’s laughter is my demise
my chair is uncomfortable as I sit across the table
